New Mumdance Mix & (new) Santigold Grime Remix – Free Download

Posted in Crunk, Dancehall, Electro, House Music, grime on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 by meanbucket

Mumdance aka Jack Adams, has recently started writing for the Mad Decent blog giving his perspective from the U.K side of things. To get the ball rolling he’s giving away a new version of his Sanitgold Creator remix and a copy of his superb two hour mix he did for Diesel U Music Radio. We were listening to this mix at our mate C.Mont’s house warming do, and maybe it had something t do with a stolen bottle of Hennessy and a bath full of beers but it’s a great party mix! Cop all this and more at the Mad Decent blog.

Still not had enough of Mad Decent, well I am sure know one needs reminding again that L-Viss 1990 will be playing at Dutty Weekend on the 15th of August in Lavka club Prague :)

Laberge

I met Laberge from Vancouver through the Low-Bee forum, he’s a good dude and has helped me out a few times with production tips etc. He had a couple of tracks out a while back on the Solid Bump compilation Pressure and Pleasure Vol. 1 but this could be his best work to date, if its none cheesy, feel good house music you are after for the weekend then look no further!

Crystal Fighters Have been getting quite a bit of blog press recently with the release of Xtatic Truth. L-ViS 1990’s remixes strips it down to basics and then builds it back up with some tasty drums and subtle tweaking.

Remember all L-Vis 1990 will be playing in Prague at Dutty Weekend on the 15th of August in Lavka Club. Put it in your diaries and see you there!!!

Studio 54

So I woke this morning still feeling a bit rough from a pretty hectic week but still wanted to do something productive, I’ve been thinking about making a Disco mix for my long car journeys for a while so I got a bunch of tunes and mixed them and recorded them in one swift take, was as simple as that. As it happens it turned out quite nice so I thought I’d share it, it’s a bit random but mostly late 70’s early 80’s stuff. Some obvious tracks some not so obvious. I guess some you may enjoy it!

Dj Tuco – A.M Workout

1. Charles Earland – Coming To You Live
2. Grace Jones – The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game
3. Pregunta – Chameleon
4. Lily Ann – Going Crazy
5. Magazine 60 – Don Quichotte
6. Air Power – Be Yourself
7. Jimmy Ross – First True Love Affair
8. Carol Williams – Love Is You
9. Kasso – Dig It
10. Squallor – I Love My Disco Baby
11. Jagg – Take Time

Not just any old “Day N Nite” remix.

Dj Sneak

Usually I’d be screaming “not another one, please god no” but when its churned out by one of my all time favorite house producers and the man responsible for ‘U Can’t Hide From Your Bud’ it would be a sin not to post it! In fact I’m writing this post before I’ve even downloaded it myself!

*Ok downloaded listened and liked… would be better as a dub (no vocals)*

Rampage – Loving you is easy

Posted in Baltimore Club, House Music, Kuduro on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 by meanbucket

Nightshifters come up with the goods yet again. Rampage has churned out his second E.P ‘War’ and it promises to be hedonistic romp of B-more/Dub-step/House/Kuduro rave tipped siren wailing children screaming madness.

‘The Ep starts with the hybrid title track “War”, a rollercoaster of a tune swerving between rave and moody dubstep but over a skeleton of urban claps and kicks. “Loving You Is Easy” builds on the emerging house-Bmore style Rampage and his crew are known for, while “GTFO” is a stomper with thunderous synths and sampled shouts. “Southside Anthem” brings it all back to the neighborhood with Bmore trumpets and enough bass to shake the L Train.

We got some badass remixes too. The Italian duo Blatta & Inesha turn “War” into a galloping kuduro-fueled, rave-siren wailing beast of a track. While Manchester’s HeavyFeet drop 2 remixes- They add a bit more P.L.U.R to “Loving you…” and then push “War” over the brink with a full-on Drum and Bass remix! Whoa! Didn’t see that coming, eh?

Grab it from Beatport.

Scion Remix Project: Grand Puba

Grand Puba

The guys at Scion A/V are at it again, this time with a hard hitting E.P of Grand Puba remixes… Unfortunately time isn’t on my side as per usual so I can’t give a blow by blow review, but we do have a couple of tracks for you and the full E.P for download… here is the blurb…

“Constantly pushing towards the future, Scion A/V’s latest remix project takes champion microphone master Grand Puba’s unique vocal tones and hands the production keys to four red hot Dubstep producers.

West London native Caspa toys with listeners ears on his 808 and keys drenched “80Eighties Remix.” The delicious blend of smooth sounds and ethereal tempo (shall we call it 70 or 140 BPM?) makes this one a perfect come-down soundtrack.

Toddla T is the biggest dancehall hitmaker in England, and this tour-de-force remix shows why. Starting at an eminently mixable 108 BPM and shifting midway to a screaming 130 BPM, the whiz kid from Sheffield gives the DJs a big gun for their sets. BOOOOOM!

Reso, one of the UK scene’s up-and-comers, fuses the flowing moods of liquid D&B with accomplished glitch production techniques on his powerful 130 BPM take on “Get It.” With big support from BBC Radio 1 and a heavy touring schedule, expect big things from the talented 25-year old.

The West Coast D&B menace and Photek disciple known as Infiltrata breaks out his secret 12th Planet identity for a brutal 140 BPM beatdown that sees the line between Drum & Bass and Dubstep and tramples all over it. Protect Ya Neck!

Also, make sure and pick up Grand Puba’s recently released, critically-acclaimed solo project “Retroactive”, available now on all major online retailers.”
