We may still not have found a new home for our monthly parties, but alongside the Boombox crew we are continuing to bring quality Dj’s to Prague at every opportunity. Back in October we had Sinden in the Golden City and he absolutely smashed it, so we didn’t waste anytime and we were straight back on it bringing over Ed Bangers top Dj, Feadz, the date is the 28th of January so if you are near or in Prague on that date make sure you get down to the Lucerna. Its a great excuse to plan a holiday over here, so if you are coming from outside Czech make yourselves known and we’ll give you a tip on the best places to stay… and drink! Nightlife in the Prague winter time is pretty spot on we sacrifice the weather for the parties…
Anyway, Feadz took a little time out of his busy schedule while touring Australia to give us this little interview about what he is currently up to and what to expect from his show… Czech version will follow shortly…
Hi, we are all really excited about an album, are you working on one and when could we expect it to come out?
Hi, I’m preparing another 12 inch first , i’m not personaly on the album chase yet , finishing uffie’s one , is a lot of work , can’t wait to come back to the fun of the 12inch format first .
In the last interview I read you said you were still into a lot of Baltimore Club, I am also a big fan but unfortunately it seems there was a lot of hype about the Bmore scene for five minutes and the media got bored and moved on, except in France where there seems to be a lot of good producers coming through with the club stuff, what do you think makes Club music so appealing to the French?
I guess french are as much influenced by that than any other country could be, but respect it the way we kinda doing french music cause we live here as they do in bmore living out there .
Will your E.P have a Bmore influence?
Kind of , but i’m not trying to do bmore music, it’s just music…
Like a lot of DJ’s from our generation you come from a Hip hop background, do you still listen to Hip hop and if so who are some your favourite artists at this time?
Yeah I still listen to a lot of Hip hop like T.I , B.O.B , Ludacris ,Kanye , Rick Ross , Birdman, my tastes are pretty mainstream at the moment !
Which Hip hop producers do you currently rate most highly, and who would you say has had most influence on your style?
Well Kanye is pretty crazy , but i would say that influences are a sum of different things from the past mostly, to create the emotions that made my life , i don’t want to sound like my comtemporarys so much somehow.
Are you still into scratching and is it something you practice?
I’m not so into scartches anymore ,and i’m not practicing anything ,i’ve been doing that for so long i can do it blindfolded, i got a lot of work to do in music though, but the mix makes itself naturally with what i want to hear at this time.
How did you make make the transition from a Hip hop DJ to the more electronic styles was it something conscious or did it happen by accident?
It was just a natural thing, with music you get deeper and deeper into it , you don’t usually start with the weirdest thing you progress to it after a certain amount of time.
I know you probably get asked this a lot but what’s up with Uffie and is there an album in the pipeline anytime soon?
As a personal matter we not together, but yes her album is almost done.
How much input will you have on it?
I have done half of the production Oizo the other half , and a surprise producer on some other track.
The rest of the world sees Paris as some kind of electronic music utopia, is it justified and what are your favourite clubs there?
I guess a lot of interesting music is coming from here, that’s all its the same as london though .., club scene is better than before, but still it’s nothing like Berlin, we have got two good clubs, the Social Club and Rex , and some good partys here and there
A lot of people are really excited that you are coming Prague, for the ones that haven’t had the pleasure of seeing you DJ before what kind of thing can they expect from your set?
I’m also very exited to bring what i do best to you guys, you can expect the unexpected, lots of music that I been looking for all my life for you
and many exclusive tracks from all over the world and my own savoir faire to bring that all together .
Lastly what do you know about the Czech Republic?
Last time i been to prague was in 92 with my mom cause her boyfriend had his family there … i’m glad to go back : )
